The Challenge
Step 1: Read a Book
The Teen Librarian has chosen a theme for each month of 2026. To participate in the challenge, read at least one book each month that fits the theme. E-books and audiobooks count, too!

Themes for 2026:
January: About an adventure
February: Written by a POC author
March: Written by a female author
April: A collection of poetry or essays
May: Recommended by a librarian
June: A retelling of a myth, fairy tale, or folktale
July: Published the year you were born
August: Won or was shortlisted for an award
September: Set somewhere you'd like to travel to
October: A banned book
November: A memoir or bio
December: A nonfiction book on a topic you're interested in
Not sure what to read?
The Teen Librarian has put together a handy suggested Reading list of e-books and audiobooks.
You can also stop by the library and check out the in person display by the young adult collection with more title suggestions!
Step 2: Tell Us About It
Once you've read your book, just fill out a quick questionnaire about your reading. Library staff will draw one name each month to win a prize!
The Prizes
Pick your prize from our prize bin! There will be a variety of things to pick from!
For now the challenge will be limited to teens. If there is enough interest, changes in the future will be considered!
