Little Free Library
A Little Bit of History...

In 2022, the Library and Friends of the Library began collaborating on a Little Free Library (LFL) project honoring Carol McNally, the Friends of the Library President who passed away in March of that year. Carol was a dedicated volunteer working at the library and tutoring young children in reading. Donations made in her memory were used to restore two Little Free Libraries that had been installed by a Girl Scout troop nearly a decade before.
Then, Molly Winer, the Library’s School and Outreach Coordinator, used some of the funds to add a Little Free Library at a local mobile home park and two elementary schools. Local artists, Mary Himburg, Kathy Cordere and Mary Hartz beautifully decorated these installations. In Spring 2026, the Little Free Library in Depot Park was replaced. Throughout this project, books have been provided by the Friends of the Library and monitoring and filling of the Little Free Libraries is being done by a team of Friends volunteers led by JoAnne Broda.
