Electronic Recycling

The Clarkston Independence District Library has partnered with High Tech Recycling. Per their mission, we will assist to make sure that no items end up in a landfill. Items dropped off are either recycled for their raw materials or upcycled to extend their usability.
Accepted Items
We accept a wide range of electronic devices and accessories, including:
Laptops and desktop computers
Cell phones and tablets
Printers and scanners
Wires, cables, and chargers
Small household electronics (e.g., toasters, microwaves, blenders)
Gaming consoles
Smart home devices (e.g., thermostats, cameras)
Computer components (e.g., hard drives, motherboards)
Items Not Accepted
To ensure safety and compliance with recycling standards, we cannot accept:
CRT Monitors or TVs
Wooden speakers
Alkaline batteries
Ni-Cad batteries
Batteries from medical devices
Any batteries that are swollen
VHS, cassette, and DAT tapes
CDs and DVDs
Large appliances
Dehumidifiers
Refrigerators
Air conditioners
The Tech Recycling bin is located in the Library's lobby, next to the entrance.
