Writing

Whether you are a beginner who is looking for input from peers or your getting back into writing, Story Smiths is a writing support group that meets on the last Wednesday of the Month. We provide a space for writers of all skill levels to share and collaborate.

Crafting

Clarkston offers a selection of monthly crafting groups with different projects each month.

High Tech Crafts provides a different project each month that utilizes one or multiple of our Tech Toys, while Clarkston Artisans offers a different family friendly craft that will be fun for all ages.

Culinary

If food is what you’re craving, let CIDL serve up some tasty activities and program suggestions. Our Salt-To-Taste Cookbook Club meets monthly on the third Monday. Participants choose a recipe from the featured cookbook and bring their finished dish to share at the meeting. For Spice It Up!, the Library provides a spice packet along with two to three suggested recipes to try; or participants can create their own dish using the featured spice. The group meets on the third Wednesday to taste the results and discuss the recipes together.

Gaming

The Clarkston Independence District Library offers a variety of gaming and interactive programs that provide opportunities for patrons to connect, learn, and have fun. Regular events such as Clarkston Arcade invite participants to enjoy friendly competition through rotating retro video games, while Family Game Nights provide access to tabletop games for all ages and skill levels. The library also hosts monthly Trivia Nights, where participants can test their knowledge across a wide range of topics in a lively, social atmosphere that encourages teamwork and friendly competition.
